i remember a particular incident two or three years ago where i injured myself. injuring oneself is common but not attending NCC training for 4 weeks is not. it all started when i was trying to be helpful. the fruit delivery man came and placed three cartons of fruits on the delivery trolley(DT) and i told him to push the DT around the house to the back(where the kitchen is located). first, i had to help the delivery man to manouevre the DT down two steps and so i began- he took charge of the front of the DT and i took charge of the back. the front went down first then i slowly guided the back down but i underestimated the weight of the DT and its contents and "bang!". i immediately fell to the ground, clutching my big toe, blood flowing rapidly out-staining the floor and my hand. i did not realise that my big toe was protruding out when i pushed the back of the DT down and so the DT ripped off the nail of my big toe. fortunately, or unfortunately, this nail did not come off completely but was attached to my toe by a little skin. the delivery man hurriedly informed my maid who rushed out and when she saw what had happened, she called out to my younger brother: "glen, call daddy! leon's toe drop out." my brother, who was on the second floor at that time, rushed up the stairs to inform my father. as my father was rushing down, my maid kept saying, "leon's toe drop out". when my father rush out of the house, he heaved a sigh of relief as my toe did not drop out. my toenail (almost) did. i was able to skip NCC training for four weeks and skip miss lee choon lin's four-hour detention. after i was told by miss lee that i had to serve a four-hour detention the previous day, i had the injury the next day so it was a blessing in disguise!
anyway, i have been in JJC for the past for four days already. i must say i quite like the school and the "fun" stmosphere. i was slightly disappointed that i failed to get posted to CJC but i guess He has other plans for me. most probably, i would be the same class as fiona and hoe xian as we took the same subject combination. however, i am not counting my chickens before they hatch as SM06 is a very popular subject combination choice. attending lectures prove to be hard. i kept yawning in the lecture theatre. Shreya even said she slept throughout the econs lecture, angeline slept for 45 minutes, waking up only to get ready to be dismissed. so far, the orientation have been good though not as fantastic as i expected. anyway, i am looking forward to the orientation camp. i also saw that to do law in NUS, i need 4 A's for my "3H2 and 1 H1" subject, provided i get good results for the others too, if not, too bad! basically, i need a majority of A's to do law plus a very good testimonial.this leads me to ponder on what to take up as my CCA. taking up a sports CCA would do me not much good as i would most probably in the recreational team. taking up "debate and oratorical speaking" club is quite good, nut i have no confidence in doing it. when i first told Sunthar, he laughed...hence the indecision. i must start mugging!!! after seeing my two older brothers' results, i am afraid i will continue the trend so i am aiming for straight A's.
i am very happy that i have been to church a record number of times in 5 weeks- five- more than the total number last year. when daniel gave me the sermon CD for last week's service (which i missed due to pure laziness), i was quite surprised as i wasn't expecting it. i would like to extend my thanks to daniel here. thanks daniel!
all right, here is a true story to cheer anyone up.(if you think is funny, it will cheer you up)
The Banana Story
Intro: BBSS students know that there are two drink stall aunties who are totally opposite in character. one is always smiling, the other is always frowning as though the whole world owes her something. the former shall be referred to as Drinkstall auntie A(DSAA) and the latter would be Drinkstall auntie B(DSAB). DSAA would put the change on your hands nicely while DSAB throws the change on the tabletop if you do not stretch out your hand on time. DSAA says thank you while DSAB has gold in her mouth and won't say a word of thanks. hey, it may be just a dollar, but every dollar helps to pay your rent and gives you your pay!!! anyway, this story revolves around a secondary 2 boy(as of 2009) and DSAB
Boy: auntie, got sell banana anot? DSAB: no. auntie no banana. Boy: no...no lah auntie, not that banana lah. banana...the fruit. DSAB: NO LAH!!! auntie no banana lah, never sell lah!!! (boy walks away silently)
okok, it isn't that funny but you could see that the boy was a little sick while the auntie was hot-tempered,losing her cool so easily.
ok thats all. i will end of with what i learnt recently.
We are saved to do good deeds and not to do good deeds to be saved faith is about doing and not just talk, faith without corresponding action is dead professing faith is nothing faith is not just beliefs faith is action-true faith must be practiced
i am not acting holy or anything. rather, it is a reminder to myself that i should practice faith. also, congrats to all the people who have successful appeals.

Love your enemies - Bible
Saviour, He can move the mountains,
My god is mighty to save,
He is mighty to save
Forever author of salvation,
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take me as you find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything that i believe in
Now i surrender (and i surrender)
Jesus, our Lord and Saviour
Light of the world,
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes, let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of my life spent with You
And here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
King of all days
Oh, so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came to the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor
I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross
